About Me

Hi! I'm a photographer based in Forest, VA. I've been shooting for over 10 years. My wife and I do professional headshots and photos for community theater, though I still call myself a "hobbyist photographer."

I gravitate to portraiture that reflects the true essence of a person. With that in mind, I do not alter the real you with unrealistic "photoshop" manipulation. I perform necessary editing for lighting, color correction, composition, and blemish removal. I'll provide photos in color or monochrome, based on your preference. Be proud of who you are, and let the world see the real you!

It's important to know that I want you to be comfortable and delighted with your experience. Whether you are experienced in front of the camera or a nervous newbie, I will do what I can to ensure you enjoy your session. We won't rush, and I won't ask you to do ridiculous poses you may have seen in magazines (unless that's what you want to do!). We'll chat, play your favorite music, and have a good time!

If I haven't made it clear yet, I absolutely love shooting portraits! Because of this, and the fact that I'm retired from both the U.S. Air Force and a career in medicine as a physician assistant, my goal is not to make money at this. Instead, my goal is to have fun, get to know amazing new people, and deliver beautiful images. So contact me and I'm sure we can produce wonderful photos together.

Caveats

Yes, I am in this for the creative outlet, for the art, and to meet wonderful new people. As stated above, my goal is not to make money. That said, if I choose to work with you and you appreciate what I do, I'm not above accepting a donation. Every little bit helps pay the mortgage!

Though I don't charge for my portrait services, that doesn't mean my time is not valuable to me. I will be selective with whom I agree to work. Bad attitudes and inflated egos need not apply. This is supposed to be fun!
